U11 Boys - Match Report by David Rush
The boys U11 team started their spring campaign Friday night against an old Rival, Barrington YS. In years past the games have always been tight so we were excited to see this match up. The boys started slowly and went a goal down in the first few minutes. They showed tremendous character to stay focused and play their own game. On the ten minute mark they tied it up with an incredible goal that involved five passes and a great cross by Owen to teammate Alex who took a great first touch to control the ball before slotting it home past the Goalie. Just a few short minutes later Alex popped up again to score his second and take the lead for EGSA. EGSA took control from this point forth adding three more goals to finish the scoreline 5-2. Barrington did show grit and added a second. If it was not for great goalkeeping from Avery and Luke they would have had a few more. In the second half Luke made some spectacular saves worthy of the crowd cheers from both sides. It was a very attacking game and a lot of the boys hard work in the off season paid off. Special attention should be brought to Little Griffen who set the standard for hard work and determination. He lead all the EG boys from the start showing them how hard you have to work to win the ball.
Congrats to Coach Rich and his team on their first win and more importantly a strong performance.

U11 Girls - Match Report by David Rush
Sunday afternoon the U11 Girls started their spring season. They were matched up with a well organised South County team.
The girls started slowly and struggled with the size of the field and the long winter. They absorbed pressure for the first 7 minutes and defended well.
On the eight minute mark the game changed for the better. The girls relaxed and gained confidence with each touch. They started connecting passes going backwards to go forwards and finding the open player. It was minutes later that Abby Lewis whilst under pressure passed the ball backwards from the halfway line to her team mate Meliss who played the ball back through the middle, it was then played wide taking advantage of the big gaps now created with this flowing style of soccer. South County were chasing ghosts always arriving to the party seconds late to find the ball had moved again. The final pass was put through to Davin who scored a nice goal in the corner.

From this point of the game EG were in complete control and should have added at least two more goals to the scoreline. The South County team were strong on defense and were doing everything to keep the EG attack to only one goal.
With 3 minutes left in the game and EG throwing every player forward to try and get that second goal we were left exposed at the back and South County transitioned quickly to counter attack. The little team from the South broke away and scored a good goal from their only attack in the second half. The game finished a tie 1-1. Whilst the result was disappointing the play was exciting and shows promise of things to come. Strong performances came from Izzy who worked hard on the outside of the midfield. We also managed to get some razzle and dazzle from Gracie and Sydney on the outsides. A good start to the season and plenty of positives to build upon.
Congrats to the girls and coach Jon on their first point of the season.

U10 Boys - Match Report by Connor Langford
So my u10 boys team got off to a great start this weekend with a hard battled 2-1 win over Pawtucket YSA. It was a big step up this year for the boys as the moved to Shovlin park on the big field. The game started off a little bit scrappy but once both teams got the ball down on the ground there were some excellent phases of play in the game. The first goal of the game came roughly midway through the first half with an excellent run down the right side from speedy Chris Bianco who drove a lovely ball across the box for a simple tap in by Omar Ahktar. East Greenwich then dominated then end of the half with a series of great chances before finally getting the 2nd goal before half time , again great work by Chris Bianco down the right side who went on a mazy run this time to cut in and fire a poweful shot into the roof of the net to go in at half time 2-0. As the 2nd half began you could see a few tired legs and faces starting to form meaning Pawtucket would get back into the game with an unlucky deflected own goal by Andrew Connolly. With the game now at 2-1 both teams were giving there all to try and finish the game strong , East Greenwich began to press again and came close to scoring another two or 3 times courtesy of Sam Whitney & Atticus Thompson but full credit to the Pawtucket goalie for keeping his team in the game. With that being said Pawtucket would go up the other end of the field and have chances to equalise them self only for a great 1 on 1 save by East Greenwich sub goalie Jack Rosemark and some " pinball like " defending by our defenders. East Greenwich managed to hold onto the 2-1 victory in the end but the game could of gone either way , both myself and Coach Matt Perry are very proud of the boys hard work in both training and games and look forward to the rest of the season

U10 Girls - Match Report by Connor Langford
So my U10 girls got off to tricky start to the season as they played a strong CLCF team and went down 6-1. Besides the scoreline I was very happy with the hard work that the girls gave from start to finish as they never gave up on the game , Both Lauren Lanfredi & Sophia Schwarzbach had Great games for East Greenwich as they made it hard work for the opposition defence as they chased every ball and worked there socks off from start to finish . The game started at a fast past with both teams having chances. Soon after CLCF scored the first goal of the game and finished the half strongly going up 4-0 which was hard to take for the girls going in at the half. In the second half East Greenwich came out aggresively and tightened things up in defence with some strong defending from Julia Moore & Ella Maybaum meaning they could apply some pressure going forward which lead to a goal for East Greenwich from Lauren Lanfredi which took a slight defletion to go past the CLCF goalie. East Greenwich pushed to get a second goal but got a little tired as the game came to a close both myself and Coach Sara Doherty are proud of the girls and look forward to hopefully a successful season ahead .....Unlucky ! but Well done Girls !
